xRM - 'Anything' Relationship Management

xRM is the name given by Microsoft to the concept of using the extensive application development capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics CRM to build Line of Business (LOB) solutions.

By adopting the Microsoft Dynamics CRM framework (database, UI, workflow, reporting engine), a 'power user' or business analyst can create a valuable, robust and smart-looking business application in a fraction of the time taken to code a comparable solution, providing a true Rapid Application Development platform.

The Business Case for xRM

xRM provides a base set of tools to enable the quick creation of business systems complete with data entry screens, reporting capability, workflow engine and security model already available.
